Mr. Ed,

Before I start, I want to say thank you for this opportunity. Hi, my name is Donnie and I’m from Mechanicsville, Virginia. I with live my father and my brother, unfortunately my mother is recently deceased. We miss her and we’re just getting use to life without her.

I am very social and sports-minded. I’ve been told I’m pretty funny. Lately, in school we have been learning about the Holocaust. I have decided to read the book “Izzy’s Fire” about the Holocaust. Last year, as a 6th grader I thought it would be a good idea to take the elective Spanish. Spanish is a high school course. Rarely any other 6th graders do that. I chose to resume Spanish and take it for a consecutive year.

Attending Kappa Kamp will improve my leadership skills. For my school, I was chosen to be on the leadership team. There are 16 students from each grade level and about 1,200 students at the school. Inside the leadership team, there is a group of four 7th graders and four 8th graders called the Prejudice Awareness Summit. I was chosen as one of the 7th graders for my leadership qualities. Inside of our group, we look at the bullying in our school to figure out solutions in order to stop bullying in the Chickahominy Community.

An investment in me is an investment in the future.

Thank you again and I look forward to participating.
